At OriBase Pharma, our teams partner with the client’s team in a collaborative spirit.

“We have been collaborating with OriBase Pharma (formerly Nova Decision) on one of our major cardiovascular programs for more than one year now. The goal of this collaborative effort is to optimize a novel class of dual-inhibitors of CETP and PLTP for the treatment of atherosclerosis and/or dyslipidimia. Using OriBase Pharma’s technology platform, we are exploring possibilities around our lead compounds and optimizing the affinity and selectivity to CETP and PLTP. Furthermore, we are comparing their positioning and orientation to known inhibitors for the same targets. Since the beginning of this project, the input from the scientists at OriBase Pharma has been crucial to understanding the mechanisms of binding of our lead compounds into the targets. Our interaction with OriBase Pharma has been a very fruitful one, undoubtedly pushing our project forward and resulting in important findings in relatively little time. We are very pleased with the scientific and technical work that OriBase Pharma has produced thus far. This has culminated in the development of new and more active scaffolds, and therefore advanced our project greatly”.

“We started a scientific research collaboration with OriBase Pharma (formerly Nova Decision) in September 2009 with a challenging objective to identify and optimize a new chemical entity to treat cancer, autoimmune and inflammation diseases. During this project, our organization will have access to OriBase Pharma’s HitFast Discovery® platform to design new scaffolds which are chemically feasible and patentable. From our side, we will be synthesizing the proposed scaffolds and also small libraries to explore possibilities around the designed scaffolds. In interacting with OriBase Pharma scientists, it was amazing to see how much progress was made in this project. Computational and medicinal chemists at OriBase Pharma have already pointed out to us some new SAR information about the targets of interest and selected some new scaffolds. With the kind of technology that OriBase Pharma is using for our project, we are quite convinced that we are heading to a new lead series for our targets in a more timely fashion.

A client and I have collaborated with OriBase Pharma (formerly Nova Decision) on a challenging drug discovery project for the past 2 years. This involved discovering inhibitors of a protein for which the X-Ray structure had not been determined. OriBase Pharma developed computer models based on the active site of a related ‘known’ protein and creatively applied them to compounds designed for the ‘unknown’ protein. They also developed a variety of predictive computer models that enabled the efficient prioritization of compounds for synthesis, a determination of drug-like characteristics, and the feedback from the in vitro testing was then incorporated in refining the models. This approach successfully enabled the design of subsequent molecules that were novel potent inhibitors of the target protein.Working with the scientists at OriBase Pharma has been a joy with prompt responses and high quality information that enabled the project to move forward rapidly.
